The new ID.5 GTX shines with a genuine highlight at the very first glance:  the innovative IQ.LIGHT. The matrix technology of this system permits continuous driving with main beam without dazzling other road users⁠. An elegant light strip extends between the attractively shaped LED matrix headlights and the Volkswagen logo. And what creates an impression at the front should naturally also be present at the rear: the package includes the optional 3D LED tail light clusters with animated brake light and integrated dynamic turn signal that indicates the intended direction with a dynamic flowing light movement. 

The new ID.5 GTX offers you many different ways to shine on the outside – for example with your individually chosen colour. This gives your vehicle a very personal touch, while the optionally available Kings Red metallic paint finish especially underlines the sporty character of the progressive SUV. The contrast-rich colour signature also establishes a clear link to the GTX family. Together with the roof in the contrasting colour black, the roof frame in anthracite creates an impressive appearance.

The panoramic sunroof is an eye-catching feature in itself with its enormous glazed area, which extends over practically the entire width of the roof. Even more appealing: an unobstructed view of the sky above. The tinted glass also ensures pleasant temperatures in the vehicle. The sun blind protects against strong sunlight and can be operated very conveniently by voice control, for example. Say “Hello ID., show me the stars” and the blind opens.

The new ID.5 GTX impresses with a unique light signature. The highlight is an elegant light strip between the attractively shaped LED matrix headlights and the Volkswagen logo. The LED matrix headlights welcome you as soon as you unlock your ID.5 GTX or approach it. The front bumpers with high-gloss painted finish also have their own light signature in the air curtains. Illuminated door handles as well as standard 3D LED tail light clusters with dynamic turn signals and selectable animations put the sporty design in a new light. Interior door handles that are illuminated as standard round off the light design.

Does your hobby or job need a lot of equipment? No problem, because the ID.5 GTX is optionally available with an electrically folding towing bracket. Thanks to the dual-motor all-wheel drive system, this is designed for loads up to 1,400 kg (braked). If the towing bracket is not needed, it can be folded away again under the bumper.

GTX stands for breathtaking electric performance that will keep you captivated. Above all, however, it stands for sportiness. Do you want to really hug the road? The new ID.5 GTX makes this possible. It can be equipped with sports running gear with especially firm tuning of the springs, shock absorbers and stabilisers. The standard progressive steering ensures enhanced handling and an especially direct driving feeling particularly for sporty driving styles or on twisting roads.

With Travel Assist with swarm data, you have an extremely useful driving assistance system on board. 

Travel Assist with swarm data can keep you in lane, maintain a distance from the vehicle in front and also ensure that the vehicle keeps to a maximum speed that you have set. 

Among other things, it uses the adaptive lane guidance system for this. This system actively keeps the vehicle in the middle of its lane. Travel Assist with swarm data adapts itself to your driving style and can also keep the vehicle further left or right in the lane instead of exactly in the centre.

Travel Assist with swarm data can also actively assist when changing lane on the motorway if wished.(1,3,4) A prerequisite for the above functions is that Travel Assist with swarm data is able to recognise the road lane markings on both sides.

If mass location data is available, in other words the driving data from several vehicles nearby, Travel Assist with swarm data needs to recognise only one road lane marking in order to keep the vehicle in lane, for example on country roads without center lane markings. 

Travel Assist with swarm data also comes with predictive cruise control and a cornering assist function. Here, the vehicle speed can be adapted to valid speed limits and the course of the road (bends, roundabouts, etc.).

Updates increase the functionality of the digital systems in your ID.5 GTX. Thanks to Over-the-Air Updates, it can update the systems fully automatically overnight, for example, as soon as you confirm the update on your Infotainment system. This means that your ID.5 GTX is always up-to-date and you are provided with new functions in your vehicle.

If you choose Park Assist Plus with memory function, you can teach your ID.5 GTX very individual parking manoeuvres. In order to park in a carport or garage, for example. For this, you just have to park your ID.5 GTX once yourself and save the parking procedure. Your ID.5 GTX can then repeat the learned parking manoeuvre on its own. All you need to do then is monitor the operation. 

Already with Park Assist Plus your ID.5 GTX not only tells you whether a parking space is large enough when driving past, but can also drive into it for you.

Up to a speed of 40 km/h, Park Assist Plus continuously searches for suitable parallel parking spaces. It also searches for parking bays up to a speed of 20 km/h. You can start the parking procedure after choosing one of the found parking spaces. Park Assist Plus can perform the respective parking manoeuvre for you. All you have to do is monitor the parking procedure and intervene if necessary. 

But Park Assist Plus can do even more. It can also drive out of parallel parking spaces again. It can also help you during an unsuccessful parking manoeuvre by completing the procedure for you.

The quietness of an electric vehicle depends completely on the vehicle in question. In order to make road traffic safer, your ID.5 is quieter inside and slightly louder towards the outside up to a speed of 30 km/h. This ensures that it is noticed more easily by pedestrians. The futuristic composition underlines its visionary identity and at the same time serves as an artificially generated vehicle noise so that the practically silent electric drives can be heard by pedestrians and cyclists.

In the new all-electric ID.5 GTX, an optional heat pump ensures energy-efficient heating of the vehicle interior. The energy saved here has a positive effect on the range.

The new route planner of the ID. family supports you in everyday driving by planning preferred charging points in your navigation route and intelligently optimising both the route and required charging times. As you can see, many things become easier with innovative technologies.

The new ID.5 GTX communicates with light. The interactive ID. Light welcomes you in the vehicle interior and translates the instructions from your navigation system and information from the Infotainment and assist systems into light signals that guide you through the traffic in a more relaxed way. An animation also visualises the active parking space search. This supports you from the corner of your eye so that you can concentrate on the road ahead. Also when you use voice control, ID. Light ensures intuitive and emotional communication through visual feedback to your voice. When you leave your ID.5 GTX, it will say goodbye with a light signal.

You can also give your ID.5 GTX more personality by choosing from 30 colours available for the standard background lighting and gently illuminate the vehicle interior, including dash panel, mobile phone tray and doors. Whether cooler or warm lighting – it is completely up to you.

In the new ID.5 GTX, you have an overview of everything that matters. The augmented reality head-up display projects important information directly into the field of view of the windscreen. Thanks to the augmented reality technology, you can see the navigation information exactly where you have to drive or turn off. This means that you arrive at your destination more relaxed without taking your eyes off the road.

Keep your eyes on the road and control equipment such as the radio, navigation system or your telephone quite simply by intuitive voice control. Just say “Hello ID.” – and the system will understand you.
